Template Details

Arberia is a Hugo theme positioned for technical blogs. It offers multiple ways to present articles: single posts support views with a sidebar, without a sidebar, with a cover image, and video posts; list pages support both a standard list and a grid, and a landing page is included. The theme also provides category and tag list pages, a table of contents, social share buttons, and multilingual support.

Functionally, search is implemented with Flexsearch.js, comments use Disqus, and analytics integrates Google Analytics. The theme uses Hugo's built-in asset pipeline for bundling, fingerprinting, and minification; the README states that editing the theme does not require webpack, Node.js, or other extra dependencies. The repository includes an exampleSite as a configuration reference.

There are several usage notes: the README indicates that when upgrading from older versions the configuration file structure has changed—menu and footer links now reside in the config/ directory at the project root, and some parameters have also been adjusted. Installation is by downloading the ZIP and extracting it into the themes directory, or by adding it via git submodule; then copy the exampleSite contents and archetypes to the site root and set theme = "arberia" in config/_default/hugo.toml. Post type is specified via the type field in front matter.

Regarding licensing, this version's code is under the MIT license, permitting free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution, provided the copyright and license notice are retained when distributing; third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons require separate license verification, and external services such as domains and hosting may incur additional charges.

  • Sites that accept using Disqus comments and Google Analytics

Getting started & customization

Usage conditions & limitations

Free to use · keep license notice

This entry covers the free version under the MIT license in the public repository; the free scope applies to this version's code and does not mean external services or third-party assets are free.

Must comply with when using

  • Permits free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution of this version's code.
  • When distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, retain the original author's copyright notice and the full MIT license notice.
  • The code is provided as is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.

Additional costs & items to verify

  • The on-site search feature depends on the third-party Flexsearch.js library; using this feature requires including this external dependency.
  • Enabling analytics requires the external Google Analytics service, which may require registering a Google account and complying with its terms of service.
  • The comment feature depends on the external Disqus service; you need to register a Disqus account and configure the site, and comment data is hosted by a third party.
  • When upgrading from older versions, the configuration file structure has changed: menu and footer links have moved to the root config/, and some parameters have been adjusted; reconfigure according to the exampleSite.
  • Demo images, fonts, icons, and other third-party assets must be checked against their respective licenses and cannot be judged solely by the code's MIT license.
  • External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments, or AI may incur additional charges.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Hugo as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.
