Template Details

This is a solution to a Frontend Mentor challenge that aims to recreate the Fylo dark theme landing page. The page uses a dark theme and provides two layouts, mobile and desktop, so users see typography adapted to their device screen size, and interactive elements on the page have hover states.

Technically, it uses semantic HTML5 markup, with styles relying on CSS custom properties, Flexbox, and CSS Grid, and follows a mobile-first workflow with media queries for responsive layout. In the README, the author notes that the project structure is close to a real landing page and helped them improve their styling and organization approach.

The project is a pure HTML/CSS static page with no backend or data logic. The author's listed next steps include overall code optimization, splitting layout-related styles into layout.css, and improving the tablet breakpoint range, indicating that the current version still has room for adjustment in tablet breakpoints and code organization.

Getting started & customization

Use these recorded setup notes alongside the repository instructions for your chosen version.

  1. 1

The repository is a static HTML/CSS project; after cloning, open the page file directly in a browser to view it

  2. 2

Page styles rely on CSS custom properties and Grid/Flexbox; use a modern browser that supports these features

  3. 3

Third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons in the repository must be checked separately under their respective licenses

  4. 4

For deployment, the static files can be hosted on any static site service

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

What to verify for this project

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies HTML as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

## Overview

### The challenge

Users should be able to:

- View the optimal layout for the site depending on their device's screen size
- See hover states for all interactive elements on the page

## My process

### Built with

- Semantic HTML5 markup
- CSS custom properties
- Flexbox
- CSS Grid
- Mobile-first workflow
- media queries
- Deepseek AI
- Github copilot AI

### What I learned

This project was very useful structurally because it's an almost realistic landing page, and overall it helped improve my work and styling in various ways.

### Continued development

Things I'll do in the future on this project:
- optimize the code overall.
- move the layout code to a new CSS file named layout.css .
- Improve the tablet breakpoint range.

### Useful resources

- [Deepseek AI](https://www.deepseek.com) - DeepSeek has helped me immensely on my learning journey—it's far better to use it for truly understanding concepts than for just getting answers and bypassing the work. And it helped me a lot more on this project.
- [github copilot AI](https://github.com/copilot) - GitHub Copilot has also been a huge help, especially when it comes to coding.
- [freecodecamp free online course](https://www.freecodecamp.org) - I gained my web development knowledge through freeCodeCamp, which is completely free and packed with resources: theory, labs, workshops, quizzes, and even review projects that help you master each topic. This project itself comes from freeCodeCamp, so a big thank-you to them.

### AI Collaboration

- What tools did you use (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot)? i only used deepseek and github copilot AI a lot.
- How did you use them (e.g., debugging, generating boilerplate, brainstorming solutions)? i used it to help me understand the structure and debug small pieces of codes. also github copilot helped me nearly in all of it. It's really good.
