Template Details

blogc-the-plain is a minimal blog theme for blogc, ported from heiswayi's Jekyll theme The Plain, which in turn derives from Leonard Lamprecht's Jekyll theme. The theme is positioned as a white, clean, writing-oriented personal blog with a visually simple presentation.

Because it is a blogc variant, the repository directly uses the final static assets generated for the Jekyll theme and does not include Sass source; if Sass-related capabilities are needed, you must return to the upstream Jekyll theme repository. The original Jekyll theme used Sass to automatically minify and compile CSS, and relied on Anatol Broder's Jekyll layout to minify HTML at generation time, with Mozilla's Fira Sans as the font. These build features are not provided with the repository in the blogc version.

The repository is under the MIT license, and this version's code may be used, modified, used commercially, and distributed free of charge; when distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, the copyright notice and the full MIT license notice must be retained. Third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons must be checked separately under their respective licenses.

Use Cases

Suitable For

  • Personal blog authors using the blogc static site generator
  • Blogs that prefer simple white typography and are primarily text-based
  • Users who accept directly using compiled static assets and do not need Sass source

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

# The Plain v1 for blogc

A minimalist blogc theme, based on [a Jekyll theme](https://github.com/heiswayi/the-plain), that focuses on writing matters, made with passion for simplicity. A great, white clean theme for personal blog use. Made with [Sass](https://github.com/sass/sass) which automates the compression of the compiled CSS code, and cool **Jekyll layout** by [Anatol Broder](http://jch.penibelst.de/) for compressing the HTML code on-the-fly. Typeface used is [Fira Sans font](https://github.com/mozilla/Fira) by Mozilla.

The blogc variant is based on the final assets generated for the jekyll theme, so the Sass stuff is not available here, please check the [Jekyll theme repo](https://github.com/heiswayi/the-plain), if you need it.
