Template Details

This repository is a personal website project built with Hugo, positioned as a personal portfolio and blog. The repository description states that it is a simple personal website made with a Hugo theme and deployed via Netlify, with the live example at tanguiquan.com. The README content comes from the upstream theme hugo-profile (author gurusabarish), indicating that the template targets personal portfolios and blogs, uses a responsive layout and minimalist design, and supports light/dark/auto theme switching, taxonomies, color customization, Google Analytics, Disqus comments, and a "Contact Me" form submitted through Formspree. On the technical stack, the README mentions the use of Bootstrap and FontAwesome, and requires Hugo 0.87.0 or higher. There are two usage approaches: clone it as a Hugo theme into the themes directory and configure it in config.yaml (or config.toml), or directly fork/use the template button to create a repository and then connect it to Netlify for automatic deployment. When building, run hugo to generate the public directory for deployment. Regarding licensing, the repository uses the MIT license, allowing free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution of this version of the code, but the copyright and license notice must be retained; third-party assets such as external services like Formspree, demo images, and font icons require separate verification of authorization and fees.

Usage conditions & limitations

Free to use · keep license notice

This entry covers the free version under the MIT license in the public repository; the free scope is this version of the code and does not mean that external services or third-party assets are free.

Must comply with when using

  • Free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution of this version of the code are permitted.
  • When distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, retain the original author's copyright notice and the complete MIT license notice.
  • The code is provided as is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.

Additional costs & items to verify

  • The README mentions the Formspree form service; actual submissions require configuring a service endpoint, and its usage quotas and fees need to be verified separately.
  • Demo images, fonts, icons, and other third-party assets need to be checked under their respective licenses and cannot be judged solely by the code's MIT license.
  • External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments, or AI may incur additional charges.
  • The contact form depends on the third-party Formspree service; you need to register and configure a service endpoint yourself, and it may be subject to its free quota and fees.
  • Enabling visit statistics requires integrating the external Google Analytics service and providing the corresponding tracking identifier.
  • The comment feature depends on the third-party Disqus service; you need to register and configure it yourself.
  • The direct deployment approach depends on the external Netlify hosting service; you need to register an account and connect the repository yourself.
  • Using this template requires Hugo 0.87.0 or higher to be installed in the local or build environment.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Hugo as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.
