Template Details
This is jartigag's personal blog repository, built with Jekyll and using the author's own arreando theme. The theme is positioned as clean and minimalist, inspired by the Jekyll theme Moving, with several toggleable features added on top.
The README states that arreando adds four features compared to Moving: links at the bottom of posts to reply on Twitter/Mastodon, related posts, tags, and a theme switcher. These features can be easily enabled or disabled. Site configuration is centralized in _config.yml, where you can set the title, author, email, site URL, favicon, whether to show excerpts on the home page, permalink format, and whether to display related posts and tags. Theme-specific configuration also includes the about page avatar, personal bio, home page date format, and the post page back button text.
For deployment, the README notes that to publish to GitHub Pages, you need to change theme in _config.yml to remote_theme: jartigag/arreando; otherwise GitHub Pages will error because it does not support the theme. For local testing, change it back to theme: arreando. The "Adding arreando to an existing blog" section in the README is marked as a to-do, indicating that the theme has not been released as a Gem, so that installation path is currently unavailable.
The theme files in the repository are under the MIT license, with the license file named LICENSE-moving-theme.txt, retaining the original theme's copyright notice. The licenses for third-party assets such as demo screenshots, fonts, and icons need to be checked separately.

How this score is calculated
Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.
The catalog identifies Jekyll as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

### Add Arreando to an Existing Blog
> [ ] To-Do: I have to publish the gem to make this work
Add this line to your Jekyll site's `Gemfile`:
```ruby
gem "arreando"
```
And add this line to your Jekyll site's `_config.yml`:
```yaml
theme: arreando
```
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install arreando
### Deploy to Github Pages
:warning: If you want to publish your site in [Github Pages](https://pages.github.com/). Change `theme: xxx` in `_config.yml` to `remote_theme: jartigag/arreando` then push to your github repo (this is important, or you will get an error from github pages that not support the arreando theme). If you want to test your site locally, you can change that to `theme: arreando` and build again.
Here is an [example](https://github.com/jartigag/blog) for Github Pages.
## Usage
You can modify the `_config.yml` to custom your blog. An example is if you want to change the back button's text in each post, you can change the `back_to`.
```yaml
title: Arreando # The title of the blog
author: Your Name # Your name
email: [email protected] # your email shown in the footer
url: https://jartigag.blog # this is your site's root address.
description: > # this means to ignore newlines until "show_excerpts:"
A clean and minimalist theme for Jekyll.
favicon: "./favicon.ico" # set the favicon of the site
show_excerpts: false # set to true to show excerpts on the homepage
permalink: /:title/
related: true # set to true to show related posts at the end of a post
show-tags: true # set to true to show tags at the end of a post
# Moving date format
# refer to https://shopify.github.io/liquid/filters/date/ if you want to customize this
arreando:
avatar_url: "/assets/images/profile.jpg" # avatar in about page
# header image is in /assets/css/header.jpg
about_you: a short description about you. # short description about you in about page
date_format: "%b %d" # date format of posts in home page
back_to: "blog" # In the post page, you have a back button above the title, you can custom the text by yourself.
# Build settings
theme: arreando # note, please use remote_theme: jartigag/arreando if you want to publish to Github Pages.
```
## Contributing
Bug reports and pull requests are welcome on GitHub at [here](https://github.com/jartigag/arreando).
## Development
To set up your environment to develop this theme, run `bundle install`.
Your theme is setup just like a normal Jekyll site! To test your theme, run `bundle exec jekyll serve` and open your browser at `http://localhost:4000`. This starts a Jekyll server using your theme. Add pages, documents, data, etc. like normal to test your theme's contents. As you make modifications to your theme and to your content, your site will regenerate and you should see the changes in the browser after a refresh, just like normal.
When your theme is released, only the files in `_layouts`, `_includes`, `_sass` and `assets` tracked with Git will be bundled.
To add a custom directory to your theme-gem, please edit the regexp in `arreando.gemspec` accordingly.
## License
The theme is available as open source under the terms of the [MIT License](https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT).
