Template Details

This template is a website built by Liam McAllister for "The Storage Nook", intended to let users query information, browse different storage unit sizes, and obtain storage quotes. The README states that the project does not use Bootstrap but is written from scratch: CSS Grid is used to lay out sections, Flexbox to arrange content within sections, and SASS mixins to reduce repetitive code. The interactive parts are implemented with vanilla JavaScript, including a tabbed section showing different storage sizes, an FAQ accordion, and a storage checklist that adds a strikethrough to item text when clicked. The project also uses the Google Maps JavaScript API to display locations with location markers on a map. The tech stack is HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript, with the Poppins font from Google Fonts, Google Maps API for maps, and Gulp as the build tool. Installation steps are to clone the repository and then run npm install; the README does not provide build, run, or deployment commands, nor does it explain the quote logic, data sources, or how to configure the map key.

I thought that this project would be a great fit for utilizing the Google Maps JavaScript API so that I could display a map with a pin on a location.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies HTML as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

## 1. Description

A website that allows users to look up information, explore the various unit sizes and get a storage quote.

On this project, I decided to ditch Bootstrap and attempt to create an entire website from scratch. I settled on using CSS Grid to layout each section and utilizing SASS mixins in order to keep my code DRY. I also used Flexbox to layout the content contained within each section.

I had a lot of fun using vanilla JavaScript on this website. I decided that I would challenge myself by creating a tabbed section for displaying the different storage sizes, an FAQ accordion and a storage checklist which strikethroughs the item text when an item is clicked.

I thought that this project would be a great fit for utilizing the Google Maps JavaScript API so that I could display a map with a pin on a location.
