Frontend-first, runs on mock data by default without a backend, database, authentication, or AI provider

02

Provides reusable UI primitives, runtime themes, and an independently installable design configuration package

03

Declares navigation, routes, metadata, and permissions uniformly through *.manifest.ts; the module registry derives routes, authentication, and workspace fallbacks

04

Keeps the data flow readable from page to query composable, API adapter, and then mock data or user API

05

Includes the create-super-admin scaffolding, with options for theme, locale, charts, and whether to include example modules

06

The documentation site provides Chinese and English guides covering API adapter replacement, theme layout, and removing example modules

Template Details

Super Admin is aimed at frontend teams that want to build the admin console frontend first without committing to a backend, database, authentication, or AI provider on day one. The template runs on mock data by default, and the data flow remains a readable path: page -> module query composable -> API adapter -> mock data/user API.

The project is currently in the 0.x development stage. The default starting version is [email protected], and each package is versioned independently. The source repository contains the Vue admin application, shared core/ui/theme packages, an optional Hono reference backend, VitePress documentation, and the create-super-admin scaffolding CLI. Projects generated with the scaffolding are smaller than the source repository and do not include the repository's release automation, documentation site, reference backend verification, or maintainer AI workflow files.

Feature modules declare navigation, routes, route metadata, and permissions uniformly through *.manifest.ts files. Optional modules manage default entries and compatibility redirects in module-local registries, while the application module registry validates the composition and derives routes, authentication, and workspace fallbacks. Layout and authentication configuration use typed application-local registries; unknown layout or authentication recipe IDs use explicit neutral fallbacks.

The template requires Node.js ^20.19.0 || >=22.13.0. The default quality baseline includes lint, test, typecheck, build, and check; using --minimal generates a smaller typecheck/build baseline but does not include generated ESLint, Vitest, or quality tests. The default locale is zh-CN; --locale can select en-US, and --i18n preserves the bilingual directory and language switcher. --no-examples removes the complete Examples registration, pages, adapters, mock data, charts, and capability context at generation time.

The template's boundaries are frontend-first and mock-data-driven. It does not include fixed API response shapes and does not require the CLI to hide services. When existing pages fit the business process, replace the API adapter; when the process differs, you need to adjust pages, components, types, queries, and adapters together.

Usage conditions & limitations

Free to use · keep license notice

This entry covers the free version under the MIT license in the public repository; the free scope is the code of that version and does not mean external services or third-party assets are free.

Must comply with when using

  • You may use, modify, commercialize, and distribute the code of this version for free.
  • When distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, retain the original author's copyright notice and the complete MIT license notice.
  • The code is provided as is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.

Additional costs & items to verify

  • Using this template requires Node.js ^20.19.0 or >=22.13.0; environments below these versions cannot run the scaffolding and development commands.
  • Projects generated with --minimal omit ESLint, Vitest, and quality tests, keeping only a smaller typecheck/build baseline, so quality assurance capabilities are reduced accordingly.
  • The Hono reference backend in the repository is only for maintainer verification and is not a required part of the generated template; user projects do not include this backend by default.
  • The AI workflow files in the repository are for maintainers only and are not part of the generated template contract; projects generated with the scaffolding do not include these files.
  • Demo images, fonts, icons, and other third-party assets must be checked against their respective licenses and cannot be judged solely by the code's MIT license.
  • External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments, or AI may incur separate charges.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Vue as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

## Status

This project is under active `0.x` development. The current default starter line is `[email protected]`; packages are independently versioned, with the current matrix documented in the [public presentation guide](docs/guide/public-presentation.md).

Current focus:

- Vue admin app with example modules.
- Shared `core`, `ui`, and `theme` packages.
- Optional Hono reference backend for maintainer validation.
- Documentation for adapter replacement and template boundaries.
- Internationalization foundation with `zh-CN` as the default locale.
- Published `create-super-admin` CLI generation and release validation.

## Use The Starter

Requires Node.js `^20.19.0 || >=22.13.0`.

Create a starter from npm:

```bash
npm create super-admin@latest my-admin
cd my-admin
npm install
npm run dev
```

Prefer pnpm:

```bash
pnpm dlx create-super-admin@latest my-admin --pm pnpm
cd my-admin
pnpm install
pnpm dev
```

Want the optional ECharts example page during non-interactive setup:

```bash
pnpm dlx create-super-admin@latest my-admin --theme base --charts echarts --pm pnpm
```

Want an English-default app without the demonstration modules:

```bash
pnpm dlx create-super-admin@latest my-admin --theme base --locale en-US --no-examples --pm pnpm
```

`--locale` selects `zh-CN` or `en-US` as the default. Combine it with `--i18n` to keep both catalogs and the language switcher. `--no-examples` removes the complete Examples registration, pages, adapters, mock data, charts, and capability context during generation.

This generated project is where you build your own admin app. It stays frontend-first and does not include this repository's release automation, docs site, optional reference backend validation, or maintainer AI workflow files.

The default starter uses the `standard` quality baseline:

```bash
pnpm lint
pnpm test
pnpm typecheck
pnpm build
pnpm check
```

Use `--minimal` only when you intentionally want the smaller typecheck/build baseline without generated ESLint, Vitest, or quality tests:

```bash
pnpm dlx create-super-admin@latest my-admin --theme base --minimal --pm pnpm
```

Every generated project includes `AGENTS.md` and capability-aware files under `ai-context/`. They describe the selected quality mode, the frontend data flow, and the actual manifest/layout/auth registry extension points without requiring an AI provider or maintainer workflow.

Examples is a removable feature slice. The [Examples guide](docs/en/guide/examples.md#remove-examples-completely) lists the exact module, adapter, mock, registration, chart, and AI-context cleanup; router, auth, and workspace fallbacks derive from the remaining app module registrations.
Use `--no-examples` when you want the CLI to apply that complete removal during generation.

## Develop This Repository

The GitHub Pages workflow deploys the VitePress docs and the canonical mock-backed admin under `/demo/`. The demo requires no backend, database, auth provider, or AI provider. Use the credentials shown on its login screen.

## Product Preview

- The committed screenshot above is captured from the real Chromium smoke after switching to the Cyberpunk dark profile, Top header layout, and English locale.
- The [live demo](https://lineo7387.github.io/super-admin/demo/) exposes the same canonical admin app and mock-backed user journey.
- Data remains on the readable `page -> query composable -> API adapter -> mock/user API` path.

## Source Repository Shape

```text
apps/admin/          Vue admin template app
packages/core/       Shared frontend contracts and helpers
packages/ui/         Reusable admin UI primitives
packages/theme/      Theme runtime, token application, and chart recipes
docs/                VitePress documentation
```

A project generated with `create-super-admin` is intentionally smaller: it is your runnable admin app, not this full source repository.

## Extension Model

- Feature `*.manifest.ts` files are the single source for navigation, routes, route metadata, and permissions. The Examples tree mounts and composes those manifests instead of copying them.
- Optional modules own their default entry and compatibility redirects in module-local registrations. The app module registry validates composition and derives router, auth, and workspace fallbacks.
- Layouts and auth profile recipes use typed app-local registries. Adding an extension means adding a registration, not editing ID branches across shell consumers.
- Unknown layout or auth recipe IDs use explicit neutral fallbacks rather than silently rendering a branded built-in experience.
- Data-backed pages keep the readable `Page -> module query composable -> API adapter -> mock data / user API` path.

## Core Boundary

The default template is frontend-first and mock-backed. It should run without:

- backend server
- database or ORM
- auth provider
- AI provider
- fixed API response shape
- CLI-only hidden service

When a screen already fits your business workflow, replace the API adapter. When the workflow differs, reshape the page, components, types, queries, and adapter together.

## Maintainer Workflow Files

This repository includes `.trellis/`, `.agents/`, `.agent/`, `.claude/`, `.codex/`, `.mcp.json`, and related AI workflow files for maintainers. They are not part of the generated starter contract and are not required to use `npm create super-admin`.

## Maintainer Validation

The optional reference backend validates that the admin app can connect to a real API without making the backend mandatory for users.

```bash
pnpm validate:starter
pnpm test:reference
```

These smoke tests are maintainer-only and intentionally stay out of the default user path.
