Template Details

This project is a frontend accounting tool for DAOs, developed with React.js and built on the coreui-free-react-admin-template admin template. The repository states that its target users are DAO finance staff or contributors, and its main interfaces include a home page, profit and loss statement, treasury, dashboard, gas fees, and Multisend CSV.

In terms of functionality, the README lists: viewing decoded transactions and tagging them; smart auto-tagging to reduce the work of labeling large numbers of transactions one by one; building customizable income, expense, and profit-and-loss statements; displaying treasury and cash flow overviews; reports can be viewed publicly, but tags can only be edited by wallets designated by the DAO; tracking and reimbursing gas fees advanced by the last signer of a Gnosis Safe; and providing a better batch transfer interface than the Gnosis Safe CSV airdrop app. The README also notes that creating and analyzing forecasts and accounting for DAO taxes payable have not yet been implemented in the frontend.

Technically, the frontend is React.js, the backend uses Flask and Python, and it calls a Hedera smart contract service written in JavaScript. Running the frontend requires installing dependencies and starting the development server, and a secretKeys.js file must be provided in the source directory with Hedera testnet credentials. The repository uses the MIT license, but third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons need to be checked separately for their licenses.

Is it right for your project?

Use Cases

  • DAO finance staff view and tag on-chain transactions and organize income and expense records
  • Generate customizable income, expense, and profit-and-loss reports for a DAO
  • Disclose treasury and cash flow overviews to the community while restricting tag editing permissions
  • Track and reimburse gas fees advanced by the last signer of a Gnosis Safe
  • Execute batch transfers through the Multisend CSV interface

Suitable For

  • DAO organizations that need on-chain accounting and reporting
  • Operations staff responsible for DAO finance or contributor reimbursements
  • Developers who want to build accounting tools on top of a React admin template

Getting started & customization

Use these recorded setup notes alongside the repository instructions for your chosen version.

  1. 1

The frontend uses yarn install to install dependencies and yarn start to start the development server

  2. 2

A secretKeys.js file must be provided in the source directory with the Hedera testnet operator id and pvkey

  3. 3

The frontend depends on a Flask/Python backend and a Hedera smart contract service written in JavaScript

  4. 4

Forecasting and tax accounting features have not yet been implemented in the frontend

  5. 5

Third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons need to be checked separately under their respective licenses

Usage conditions & limitations

Free to use · keep license notice

This listing covers the free version in the public repository under the MIT license; the free scope is the code of that version and does not mean external services or third-party assets are free.

Must comply with when using

  • The code of this version may be used, modified, used commercially, and distributed free of charge.
  • When distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, retain the original author's copyright notice and the full MIT license notice.
  • The code is provided as is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.

Additional costs & items to verify

  • Running the frontend requires providing a secretKeys.js file in the source directory with the Hedera testnet operator id and pvkey credentials; otherwise it cannot start or call on-chain services.
  • The frontend depends on a Hedera smart contract service written in JavaScript and must work with a Flask/Python backend to run fully, which is an external service dependency.
  • Creating and analyzing forecasts and accounting for DAO taxes payable have not yet been implemented in the frontend and cannot be used as existing capabilities.
  • Demo images, fonts, icons, and other third-party assets need to be checked under their respective licenses and cannot be judged solely by the code's MIT license.
  • External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments, or AI may incur additional charges.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

# DAO Books - DAO Accounting Tool

- DaoBooks empowers the DAO users to:
- See decoded transactions and tag them
- Its intelligent auto-tagging feature makes it such that the accountant would only have to add a few tags for 100s of transactions
- It allows them to build a fully customisable income, expense and P&L statement
- It gives them an overview of the treasury and the cash flow
- The report can be publicly viewed by anyone but tags can only be edited by wallets nominated by the DAO
- Gnosis safe tx cost the last signee gas fees, DAOs can now track and repay their contributors their gas fees in only a three clicks
- Gnosis safe’s CSV airdrop app is widely used for making bulk transactions but it has a very poor UI, DaoBooks’ UI will blow it out of the water
- [Not yet implemented - on frontend] Facility to create and analyse Projections and checkout the taxes that the DAO owes to the state
