Template Details

This is a minimalist blog site template with a tech stack of TypeScript, Svelte, SvelteKit, and MDsveX. Article content is primarily Markdown, and MDsveX allows Markdown files to directly use Svelte components, recognizing .svelte.md, .md, and .svx extensions by default.

The project is preconfigured with @sveltejs/adapter-static, and the build output is static files, suitable for deployment to static site hosting services such as Netlify: set the build command to npm run build and the output directory to build. The repository uses the MIT license, allowing free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution, but third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons require separate license verification, and external services like domains and hosting may incur costs.

The README also provides an alternative path to build from scratch: create a new project with create-svelte, add MDsveX support via svelte-add, and configure the site yourself. The template does not mention extended features such as comments, search, pagination, or CMS in the materials.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Svelte as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

# `sveltekit-mdsvex-blog`

Minimalistic blog site template, built with [TypeScript](https://www.typescriptlang.org/), [Svelte](https://svelte.dev), [SvelteKit](https://kit.svelte.dev) and [MDsveX](https://mdsvex.com).

[Live demo](https://sveltekit-mdsvex-blog.netlify.app)

## Getting started

First, clone the repository and navigate to the project directory:

```bash
git clone https://github.com/mvasigh/sveltekit-mdsvex-blog.git my-blog
cd my-blog
```

If you want to have a fresh commit history, blow away the `.git` directory and re-initialize the repository locally:

```bash
rm -rf .git
git init
```

Next, install dependencies with NPM:

```bash
npm install # or `pnpm i`
```

Finally, run the local development server:

```bash
npm run dev # or `pnpm dev`
```

## Building for production

This project is pre-configured with [`@sveltejs/adapter-static`](https://github.com/sveltejs/kit/tree/master/packages/adapter-static). This makes deploying to static site hosts, such as Netlify, super easy. Simply add your site's repository to your static site host of choice, configure the build command to be `npm run build` and the build output directory to be `build`.

## Starting from scratch

You may want to create your own project from scratch using `create-svelte`. You can do so easily and add MDsveX support to your project using `svelte-add`:

1. Create a new project per the [SvelteKit docs](https://kit.svelte.dev/docs#introduction-getting-started)
2. [Add MDsveX to your project](https://github.com/svelte-add/mdsvex#-adding-to-sveltekit) using svelte-add
3. Configure your site to your liking; files with the `.svelte.md`, `.md` and `.svx` extensions will be picked up by MDsveX by default
