What stands out

A quick read of the recorded project description.

01

Live invoice demo: edit customer, line items, quantities and rates, switch between INR, USD, EUR and GBP, toggle GST, and see totals and the CGST/SGST split update in real time.

02

Scroll story: as the four steps scroll, the right-hand stage stays fixed and plays the invoice filling, chat sharing, reminder timeline and payment counter animations in sequence.

03

Template carousel: six invoice looks with scroll snapping, mouse dragging, arrow and dot controls, autoplay paused on hover or focus, and "Use this look" to re-theme the hero invoice.

04

Pricing toggle: monthly/yearly and INR/USD switches cross-fade through the View Transitions API.

05

Animation accessibility: all animations are disabled under prefers-reduced-motion, scroll-linked effects use CSS scroll-driven animations, and browsers without support skip them.

06

Static export: uses Next.js output: "export" to generate an out/ directory that can be deployed to any static host.

Template Details

Kitebill is a landing page for a concept invoicing app, built with Next.js, React and Tailwind CSS and exported as a fully static site. At its core is an interactive live invoice demo: users can edit customer details, invoice line items, quantities and rates, switch currency between INR, USD, EUR and GBP, and toggle GST; totals, the CGST/SGST split and the LUT export line update with each input. Clicking the send button demonstrates the invoice being issued, opened, reminded and paid. The page also includes a scroll story section where the right-hand stage stays fixed and plays the scene for each of four steps; a template carousel with six invoice looks, supporting scroll snapping, mouse dragging, arrow and dot controls, pausing autoplay on hover or focus, and applying the selected theme to the hero's live invoice via "Use this look"; a payment marquee moving in both directions that pauses on hover; and feature cards with a cursor-following spotlight, a reminder tone switcher, a place-of-supply GST calculator and a cash flow chart. The pricing section offers monthly/yearly and INR/USD toggles with cross-fades through the View Transitions API. All animations are disabled under prefers-reduced-motion, and scroll-linked effects use CSS scroll-driven animations, which browsers without support skip entirely. The page is not a real service; it does not process payments or store data, and all interactions run in the browser.

Use Cases

  • As a design and front-end reference for a Next.js static site and interactive landing page.
  • For demonstrating browser-side interactions such as invoice editing, currency switching and GST calculation.
  • As an example for learning CSS scroll-driven animations, the View Transitions API and prefers-reduced-motion practices.
  • For showing how a template carousel and theme switching can update other areas of the page.

Suitable For

  • Front-end developers who want a reference for Next.js static export and interactive landing page implementation.
  • Designers or product people who need to understand a browser-side invoice demo and GST calculation interactions.
  • Readers looking for front-end interaction examples such as scroll stories, template carousels and pricing toggles.

Usage conditions & limitations

Free to use · keep license notice

This listing covers the free version in the public repository under the MIT license; the free scope is that version's code and does not mean external services or third-party assets are free.

Must comply with when using

  • The code of this version may be used, modified, used commercially and distributed free of charge.
  • When distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, the original author's copyright notice and the full MIT license notice must be retained.
  • The code is provided as is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.

Additional costs & items to verify

  • Demo images, fonts, icons and other third-party assets must be checked against their respective licenses; the code's MIT license alone is not sufficient to judge them.
  • External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments or AI may incur separate charges.
  • The code is under the MIT license; generated images are for this demo only and are not granted a reusable license, so they must be verified or replaced before reuse.
  • The photos and kite logo were generated with FLUX.2 [klein] on Cloudflare Workers AI; the licensing of third-party generated assets must be verified independently.
  • Kitebill is not a real service; it does not process payments or store data, and all interactions run only in the browser, so it cannot be used as a real invoicing or payment backend.
  • This is design and front-end research for a concept invoicing app, not a complete, usable invoicing business system.

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Next.js as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

# Kitebill

A landing page for **Kitebill**, a concept invoicing app for freelancers in India and abroad. It is a design and front-end study built with Next.js, React and Tailwind CSS, exported as a fully static site.

> Kitebill is not a real service. Nothing on the page takes payments or stores data; every interactive part runs in the browser.

## What's on the page

- **A live invoice in the hero.** Edit the client, the lines, the quantities and the rates, switch between INR, USD, EUR and GBP, and toggle GST. Totals, the CGST and SGST split and the export-under-LUT line update as you type. Press Send to watch it go out, get opened, get nudged and get paid.
- **A scroll story.** The four steps scroll past while the stage on the right stays pinned and plays a scene for each one: an invoice filling itself in, a chat share, a reminder timeline and a payment that counts up.
- **A template carousel.** Six invoice looks with scroll-snap, mouse drag, arrow and dot controls, and an autoplay that pauses on hover and focus. "Use this look" re-themes the live invoice in the hero.
- **A payments marquee**, two rows moving in opposite directions, which pauses on hover.
- **Feature cards** with a cursor-following spotlight, a reminder-tone switcher, a place-of-supply GST calculator and a cashflow chart whose bars grow in.
- **Pricing** with monthly/yearly and INR/USD toggles that cross-fade through the View Transitions API.
- **Kinetic type and drifting kites** in the hero, a scroll-progress line under the nav, and a parallax sky at the end.

Every animation is switched off under `prefers-reduced-motion`. The scroll-linked effects use CSS scroll-driven animations, and browsers that don't support them simply skip them.

## Stack

- [Next.js 16](https://nextjs.org) (App Router, Turbopack, `output: "export"`)
- React 19
- Tailwind CSS 4, with the design tokens in `src/app/globals.css`
- `next/font` for Familjen Grotesk, Public Sans and JetBrains Mono
- No UI or animation libraries

## Run it

```bash
npm install
npm run dev        # http://localhost:3000
npm run build      # static site in out/
```

`out/` can be served from any static host. This one runs on Cloudflare Pages.

## How it's put together

```
src/app/            layout, page, global styles and tokens, favicons
src/components/     one file per section (Hero, InvoiceDemo, Story, Templates, Features, …)
src/lib/money.ts    currency formatting (en-IN lakh grouping for rupees) and sample invoices
src/lib/themes.ts   the six invoice looks, each just a set of colour and font tokens
src/lib/motion.ts   View Transition helper, count-up hook and reduced-motion check
scripts/images.mjs  resizes the source art into public/img and cuts the logo out of its background
```

The sections talk to each other through two window events. "Load this invoice" sends a sample invoice to the hero, and "Use this look" sends a theme. No state library needed.

Images are resized ahead of time to every width `next/image` asks for, and served through a small custom loader (`src/lib/image-loader.ts`), because the built-in optimizer needs a server.
