Template Details
texture is a Jekyll blog theme positioned as a "configurable simple blog." It centralizes site information and appearance through the texture key in _config.yml, including the title, tagline, date format, and social links (Twitter, GitHub, LinkedIn). The theme includes multiple header color schemes that can be switched among yellow, red, black, blue, green, and purple; it also provides a development-oriented texture picker that toggles different textures on the page via the showPicker switch, and the README notes that it should be set to false in production.
In terms of features, the theme supports Disqus comments (by filling in disqus_shortname), Google Analytics (by filling in analytics_id), post excerpts (show_excerpts), and a toggleable navigation bar (showNav), with navigation items configured as a list of title and url pairs. The theme provides three layouts: Home, Page, and Post.
There are two installation methods: use remote_theme: samarsault/texture on GitHub Pages; or install as a gem by adding gem "texture" to the Gemfile, setting theme: texture in _config.yml, and then running bundle or gem install texture. The README specifically warns that if you fork the repository, you need to remove base_url: /texture from _config.yml, otherwise asset loading will be affected.
Regarding licensing, the repository uses the MIT license, allowing free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution of this version of the code, provided the copyright notice and license notice are retained when distributing; however, third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons need to be checked separately under their respective licenses, and external services such as domains and hosting may also incur separate charges.

How this score is calculated
Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.
The catalog identifies Jekyll as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

## Contributing
Bug reports and pull requests are welcome on GitHub at https://github.com/samarsault/texture. This project is intended to be a safe, welcoming space for collaboration, and contributors are expected to adhere to the [Contributor Covenant](http://contributor-covenant.org) code of conduct.
## Development
To set up your environment to develop this theme, run `bundle install`.
Your theme is setup just like a normal Jekyll site! To test your theme, run `bundle exec jekyll serve` and open your browser at `http://localhost:4000`. This starts a Jekyll server using your theme. Add pages, documents, data, etc. like normal to test your theme's contents. As you make modifications to your theme and to your content, your site will regenerate and you should see the changes in the browser after a refresh, just like normal.
When your theme is released, only the files in `_layouts`, `_includes`, `_sass` and `assets` tracked with Git will be bundled.
To add a custom directory to your theme-gem, please edit the regexp in `texture.gemspec` accordingly.
