What stands out

A quick read of the recorded project description.

01

Static build: npm run build embeds data into src/template.html and outputs dist/, which can be hosted anywhere

02

Clear data contract: data.schema.json defines the public data contract, and data.example.json provides sample data

03

Supports multiple data sources: MagicPost, Shield, Taplio, spreadsheet exports, data warehouse queries or manual JSON

04

Optional scheduled refresh: after implementing scripts/fetch-data.mjs, a GitHub Actions workflow rebuilds, validates, commits and deploys on a schedule

05

Agent-oriented rebuild: AGENTS.md explains how to have a coding agent generate only schema-compliant data.json

Template Details

This is a static template for building Employee Generated Content (EGC) leaderboards, and it is the public version of the Slite EGC dashboard. The page organizes displays around team reach, top posts, competition animations, trends and each poster's activity.

For usage, the template installs dependencies via npm and runs a build, reading data.example.json by default; to connect your own data, copy it to data.json and edit it, or have an agent generate it from the source system, then rebuild. The build output is a static dist/ directory that can be hosted anywhere. The README also provides deployment commands for Cloudflare Pages.

For data, the template expects metrics aggregated by person and period, including post count, impressions/reach, likes, comments, reposts, top posts with public links and timestamps, optional activity_posts (for a more accurate activity heatmap) and follower counts. Data can come from MagicPost, Shield, Taplio, spreadsheet exports, data warehouse queries or manual JSON, as long as it conforms to data.schema.json. The repository also includes an optional scheduled refresh path: implement scripts/fetch-data.mjs to output schema-compliant JSON, then a GitHub Actions workflow rebuilds, validates, commits and deploys on a schedule. The README also gives an example prompt for having an agent rebuild the dashboard.

Regarding privacy, the README explicitly warns against committing tokens, private post analytics, customer data, emails, internal IDs or raw employee exports you do not want made public; public demos should use anonymized data or data from already-public posts. The README does not state the specific frontend framework version, performance characteristics or production suitability.

Usage conditions & limitations

Free to use · keep license notice

This entry covers the free version under the MIT license in the public repository; the free scope is the code of this version and does not mean external services or third-party assets are free.

Must comply with when using

  • Free use, modification, commercial use and distribution of this version's code are permitted.
  • When distributing copies or substantial portions of the code, retain the original author's copyright notice and the full MIT license notice.
  • The code is provided as is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.

Additional costs & items to verify

  • Demo images, fonts, icons and other third-party assets must be checked against their respective licenses and cannot be judged solely by the code's MIT license.
  • External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments or AI may incur separate charges.
  • Automatic updates are an optional path: you must implement scripts/fetch-data.mjs to output schema-compliant JSON and rely on a GitHub Actions workflow to rebuild, validate, commit and deploy on a schedule.
  • Data sources may use third-party services such as MagicPost, Shield or Taplio, or spreadsheet/data warehouse exports; these external services may require their own accounts or fees, which the template itself does not provide.
  • Deploying to Cloudflare Pages requires the wrangler command and a specified project name; this is an external hosting service and may involve accounts and fees.
  • Do not commit tokens, private post analytics, customer data, emails, internal IDs or raw employee exports you do not want made public; public demos should use anonymized data or data from already-public posts.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies HTML as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

# EGC Dashboard Template

A static, agent-friendly template for building an Employee Generated Content
leaderboard: team reach, top posts, race animation, trends, and per-poster
activity.

This is the public version of the Slite EGC dashboard.

## Quick Start

```bash
npm install
npm run build
open dist/index.html
```

By default the build uses `data.example.json`. To use your own data:

```bash
cp data.example.json data.json
# edit data.json or ask an agent to generate it from your source system
npm run build
```

The dashboard is static. You can host `dist/` anywhere.

## Auto Update

The repo includes an optional scheduled refresh path. Add
`scripts/fetch-data.mjs` so it prints schema-valid dashboard JSON to stdout, then
use `.github/workflows/refresh-dashboard.yml` to rebuild, validate, commit, and
deploy the dashboard on a schedule.

Start from:

```bash
cp scripts/fetch-data.example.mjs scripts/fetch-data.mjs
```

More detail: [docs/auto-update.md](docs/auto-update.md).

## Recreate With An Agent

Point your agent at this repository and say:

```txt
Build an EGC dashboard for our team.
Use AGENTS.md, inspect data.schema.json, create data.json from our LinkedIn or
social analytics export, run npm run build, and deploy dist/ to Cloudflare Pages.
```

The agent should only need to produce a `data.json` matching the schema. The
visual system and build step are already here.

## Data Sources

The included dashboard expects aggregated metrics by person and period:

- posts
- impressions / reach
- likes, comments, reposts
- top posts with public URLs and timestamps
- optional all-post `activity_posts` for accurate activity heatmaps
- follower counts

You can feed it from MagicPost, Shield, Taplio, a spreadsheet export, a warehouse
query, or a hand-built JSON file. The source does not matter as long as
`data.json` matches `data.schema.json`.

## Deploy To Cloudflare Pages

```bash
npm run build
npx wrangler pages deploy dist --project-name egc-dashboard
```

More detail: [docs/deploy-cloudflare-pages.md](docs/deploy-cloudflare-pages.md).

## Files

- `AGENTS.md` tells coding agents how to recreate the dashboard.
- `.github/workflows/refresh-dashboard.yml` is an optional scheduled refresh loop.
- `data.schema.json` is the public data contract.
- `data.example.json` is fake sample data.
- `scripts/fetch-data.example.mjs` shows the refresh-script contract.
- `src/template.html` is the visual dashboard.
- `scripts/build.mjs` embeds data into the template and writes `dist/`.
- `public/photos/` contains sample avatars copied into `dist/photos/`.

## Privacy

Do not commit tokens, private post analytics, private customer data, emails,
internal IDs, or raw employee exports you do not want public. For a public demo,
use anonymized data or data from posts that are already public.

## Built By Slite

Built by [Slite](https://slite.com) as a forkable template for teams that want
to turn social posting into a visible, playful team ritual.
