Template Details

This is a starter application for the Wodby Laravel service and the Laravel stack. The repository is maintained by Wodby from the official Laravel application skeleton, keeping the conventional framework directory structure while adding deployment-oriented starting pages and checks.

The project includes a responsive deployment status landing page, a lightweight health check endpoint at /healthz, and feature tests for the landing page and health endpoint. For continuous integration, the repository provides GitHub Actions tests (covering PHP 8.3, 8.4, and 8.5) and a Wodby CI pipeline configuration at .wodby/pipeline.yml.

Local development requires PHP 8.3 or newer, Composer, Node.js, and npm. Start it with composer run setup and composer run dev, then access http://localhost:8000 by default. The health endpoint is at http://localhost:8000/healthz, and tests run with php artisan test.

As a starter, its role is to be a replacement starting point rather than a finished product: the root route in routes/web.php renders the landing page from resources/views/welcome.blade.php. The README recommends replacing that route and view according to the application shape and using Laravel generators (such as make:controller and make:model) to create domain code. Deployment environment secrets are not committed to the repository; runtime configuration such as the application key, URL, and database connection is provided by Wodby to the deployed application, while other environment variables are configured through the Wodby application environment.

The code is MIT licensed, allowing free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution, provided the copyright notice and full license notice are retained when distributing. Third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons, as well as external services such as domains, hosting, and databases, require separate verification of licensing and costs.

Is it right for your project?

Use Cases

  • Deploying a Laravel application on Wodby and wanting to start from a point that follows the official skeleton structure
  • Wanting a project that already includes a health check endpoint and landing page tests for deployment validation
  • Needing ready-made GitHub Actions and Wodby CI pipeline configuration as a continuous integration starting point
  • Using it to learn or demonstrate how the Laravel application skeleton and Wodby deployment configuration work together

Suitable For

  • Developers using the Wodby Laravel service or the Laravel stack
  • Laravel projects that need to start from the official Laravel application skeleton
  • Deployment-oriented starter projects that should include a health endpoint and basic tests
  • Teams that accept the MIT license terms and independently verify third-party assets and external service costs

Getting started & customization

Use these recorded setup notes alongside the repository instructions for your chosen version.

  1. 1

    Local installation requires PHP 8.3 or newer, Composer, Node.js, and npm

  2. 2

    Run composer run setup and composer run dev to start the development environment; the default address is http://localhost:8000

  3. 3

    The health check endpoint is http://localhost:8000/healthz, and tests run via php artisan test

  4. 4

    The root route and landing page view need to be replaced according to the actual application; domain code can be created with generators such as php artisan make:controller and make:model

  5. 5

    Runtime configuration such as the application key, URL, and database connection is provided by Wodby; environment-related secrets must not be committed to the repository

How this score is calculated

Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Laravel as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

# Laravel starter for Wodby

A production-ready starting point for the
[Wodby Laravel service](https://github.com/wodby/service-laravel-php) and
[Laravel stack](https://github.com/wodby/stack-laravel).

The starter follows the official Laravel 13 application skeleton and includes:

- a responsive deployment-status landing page
- a lightweight health endpoint at `/healthz`
- feature tests for the landing page and health endpoint
- GitHub Actions tests on PHP 8.3, 8.4, and 8.5
- a ready-to-use Wodby CI pipeline at `.wodby/pipeline.yml`

## Local development

Install PHP 8.3 or newer, Composer, Node.js, and npm, then run:

```shell
composer run setup
composer run dev
```

Open http://localhost:8000. The health endpoint is available at
http://localhost:8000/healthz.

Run the application tests with:

```shell
php artisan test
```

## Start building

The root route in `routes/web.php` renders the starter landing page from
`resources/views/welcome.blade.php`. Replace that route and view as your
application takes shape.

Laravel's generators can create the first pieces of your domain:

```shell
php artisan make:controller HomeController
php artisan make:model Product -m
```

Wodby supplies the application key, URL, database connection, and other runtime
settings to deployed applications. Keep environment-specific secrets out of the
repository and configure additional values through the Wodby application
environment.

See the [Laravel documentation](https://laravel.com/docs/13.x) and
[Wodby documentation](https://wodby.com/docs/2.0/) for the next steps.
