Template Details
Navada is a Hugo theme for blogs and similar content sites, emphasizing vivid colors, visual appeal, and responsive layout. The README provides desktop and mobile screenshots of the homepage, blog page, and footer, which can be used to assess the layout style.
The theme repository includes an exampleSite directory containing a config.toml configuration file, sample posts under content, and image assets under images. Installation involves cloning the repository into the themes directory of a Hugo site, then copying the example configuration, content, and images to the site root and static directory respectively. Posts are created via the hugo new command, and the default archetype includes title, date, description, draft, author, tags, image, and categories fields. The author name and avatar are set in the params section of config.toml, and post images are declared as a YAML list.
The README lists comments, multi-author support, and CSS cache busting as features not yet implemented that the author hopes to add later, indicating that the current version does not include these capabilities. The repository was last updated in 2021 and has a small number of stars. The code uses the MIT license, allowing free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution, but third-party assets such as demo images, fonts, and icons require separate license verification.

How this score is calculated
Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.
What to verify for this project
- Repository update recorded
- 2021-12-23

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.
The catalog identifies Hugo as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

## Installation
In your Hugo website directory, go to themes folder by `$ cd themes` command. Then clone this repo with the `git clone` command.
```bash
$ cd themes
$ git clone https://github.com/chaitanya4vedi/navada.git
```
I have provided `config.toml` file inside the `exampleSite` directory together with some sample posts inside `content` folder and images inside `images` folder. Copy and replace the `config.toml` and `content` folder to the root directory and copy paste `images` folder to the `static` folder of the root directory.
For more information read the official [setup guide](https://gohugo.io/overview/installing/) of Hugo.+
## Writing Posts
Create a new `.md` file in the *content/blog/2021/* folder
or you can simply type this command with your post's title in it
`hugo new blog/2021/post-title.md`
or you can also type `hugo new post-title.md` hugo will automatically create posts inside `content/blog` folder.
## Configs
### Author Name and Image
In the `config.toml` file that you copy pasted from exampleSite to root directory, change the the author name and image to show up on each post.
```
[params]
author = "Janne Kemppainen"
authorImage = "/images/janne.jpg"
```
### Default Archetype
This is the default archetype.
```
---
title: ""
date:
description: ""
draft: true
author: ""
tags: ""
images:
-
categories:
-
---
```
### Images
The images parameter needs to be a list. There are two ways to create a list in YAML so you can use either one of these options:
#### Option 1
```
images:
- /images/blog/03/fields.jpg
```
Note that indentation matters here.
#### Option 2
```
images: ["/images/blog/03/fields.jpg"]
```
## Open to Suggestions and Improvements
