What stands out

A quick read of the recorded project description.

01

Based on the philosophy of Specification-Driven Development (SDD), with built-in EARS notation for structuring requirements, BDD acceptance scenarios, and gates to prevent over-engineering

02

Provides document templates such as hearing sheets, requirements definition documents, phased SOWs, functional specifications, and defect fix specifications

03

Gives design guidelines based on Next.js (App Router) + TypeScript

04

The governance rule group is separated into the nextjs-web-governance repository and referenced as a submodule

05

Adopts a Docker-first approach, allowing development and CI to be reproduced without Node/npm on the host

06

Clearly defines AI agent usage rules: in principle use Japanese, one question and one answer during the requirements definition phase, and do not fill in requirements by speculation

Template Details

This repository is a template and base project for quickly starting various types of website builds. The README states that its target users are creators who already understand the basic processes of web development and operations, and who are familiar with the lifecycle of requirements definition → design → implementation → testing → deployment → maintenance as well as foundational concepts such as Git, Docker, and CI/CD. It is not a tutorial for complete beginners.

The template is based on the philosophy of Specification-Driven Development (SDD), emphasizing fixing specifications before implementation and eliminating speculation, and it includes EARS notation for structuring requirements, BDD acceptance scenarios, and gates to prevent over-engineering. The repository provides document templates from requirements definition through implementation, testing, and maintenance planning, including hearing sheets, requirements definition document templates, phased SOW templates, functional specification templates, and defect fix specification templates, as well as governance rules for development, architecture, UI/UX, SEO, security, observability, portability, and quality gates. In terms of design policy, it does not produce a separate detailed design document; instead, the requirements definition document, wireframes/UI prototypes, and SOW take on the corresponding responsibilities.

Regarding technical prerequisites, the README gives design guidelines based on Next.js (App Router) + TypeScript and adopts a Docker-first approach, so development and CI can be reproduced without Node/npm on the host. Environments are divided into dev/staging/production and switched via environment variables. The governance rule group is referenced as a submodule in the separate repository nextjs-web-governance. The README does not provide specific dependency version numbers, performance metrics, or statements about production readiness.

Is it right for your project?

Use Cases

  • Website build projects that need to proceed in a standardized way starting from requirements definition
  • Situations where teams want to unify their development process using document templates and governance rules
  • Situations where development and CI are performed in a Docker environment and Node/npm is not installed on the host
  • Situations where governance rules need to be shared across multiple projects as a submodule or referenced by external tools

Suitable For

  • Web creators who understand the basic processes of web development and operations
  • Developers who grasp foundational concepts such as Git, Docker, and CI/CD
  • Teams that need to proceed with projects using a requirements-definition-first process

Getting started & customization

Use these recorded setup notes alongside the repository instructions for your chosen version.

  1. 1

    Prerequisites are Git and Docker Desktop (macOS / Windows WSL2)

  2. 2

    Using GitHub's Use this template to create a new repository is recommended; after cloning, run git submodule update --init to expand the governance rules

  3. 3

    For manual cloning, delete .git, docs/governance, and .gitmodules, then reinitialize and add the submodule

  4. 4

    Before starting, follow the Definition of Ready process: confirm the hearing sheet, copy the requirements template to docs/projects/<project_slug>/, create and agree on the SOW, and only proceed to implementation after satisfying the quality gates

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.

The catalog identifies Next.js as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

- Next.js(App Router)+ TypeScript

- `docs/governance/requirements/`:
  - `HEARING_SHEET.md`: ヒアリング入力フォーム。
  - `REQUIREMENTS_TEMPLATE.md`: プロジェクト固有要件定義書のテンプレ(編集禁止)。
  - `SOW_TEMPLATE.md`: フェーズ別SOW(Statement of Work)のテンプレ。
- `docs/governance/runbooks/RELEASE_CHECKLIST.md`: リリース前チェックリスト。

- Git
- Docker Desktop(macOS / Windows WSL2)

### 方法A: GitHub の「Use this template」(推奨)

1. GitHub上で本リポジトリの「Use this template」→「Create a new repository」を選択

```bash
git clone <new-repo-url>
cd <new-project-name>
git submodule update --init
```

```bash
git clone <web-starter-kit-url> <new-project-name> --recurse-submodules
cd <new-project-name>
# .git を削除するとサブモジュール関係が壊れるため、クリーンアップが必要
rm -rf .git docs/governance .gitmodules
git init
git add .
git commit -m "chore: init from web-starter-kit template"
# サブモジュールを新規追加
git submodule add https://github.com/murakami-shoten/nextjs-web-governance.git docs/governance
git commit -m "chore: add governance submodule"
```

(Definition of Ready)
1) `docs/governance/requirements/HEARING_SHEET.md`
2) `docs/governance/requirements/REQUIREMENTS_TEMPLATE.md` を複製し、`docs/projects/<project_slug>/REQUIREMENTS_<project_slug>.md` を作成(テンプレは編集しない)。
4) 要件が合意できたら、フェーズごとに SOW を作成・合意(テンプレ: `docs/governance/requirements/SOW_TEMPLATE.md` → 保存: `docs/projects/<project_slug>/SOW_<phase>.md`。
5) `docs/governance/rules/QUALITY_GATES.md`

- Lint / Typecheck / Unit・Integration Test / Build
- Secret scan(例: gitleaks)
- Dependency vulnerability scan(例: OSV-Scanner)

## SEO / LLMO /
- LLMO: `llms.txt` によるLLM向けサイト情報の構造化提供(`docs/governance/rules/LLMO_RULES.md` 参照)。
- メール送信: プロバイダ選定の意思決定ツリー、DNS認証(SPF/DKIM/DMARC)、低ロックイン設計パターンを標準化(`docs/governance/rules/EMAIL_RULES.md` 参照)。

### Agent Skills について
本プロジェクトでは Agent Skills(`.gemini/` / `.agents/` 等のワークフロー定義)を**意図的に導入していません**。

代わりに `AGENTS.md`(+ `CLAUDE.md`)から `docs/governance/rules/` を参照させるルール参照型の設計を採用しています。

```bash
# 1. サブモジュールを編集可能な状態にする(detached HEAD → main ブランチ)
cd docs/governance
git checkout main
# 2. ファイルを編集・コミット・push(NWG リポジトリに反映)
git add .
git commit -m "fix: 〇〇を修正"
git push origin main
# 3. WSK 側でサブモジュール参照を更新
cd ../..
git add docs/governance
git commit -m "chore: update governance submodule"
```
