Template Details
This is the Hexo theme used by SherlockBlaze on his personal blog. The code originates from YuHsuan's BeanTech theme, which in turn was ported from Huxpro's Hux Blog. The repository contains both the theme and a ready-to-run Hexo site project, so you can clone it and modify the configuration directly by following the README.
Compared with the upstream version, this theme makes several adjustments: the top bar background uses random images (you can change it back to a fixed image); it integrates the Valine comment system, which the author considers to load more smoothly within China; it adds a Travis-CI configuration to automatically build and deploy the site after pushing articles; it does not include a reward/donation feature, and the README suggests users who need it refer to hexo-theme-huweihuang; it also updates some outdated npm modules.
The theme provides a sidebar toggle, about description and avatar, signature image, back-to-top icon, and optional widgets such as featured-tags, short-about, recent-posts, friends-blog, archive, and category. New widgets must be placed in the layout/_widget directory. The deployment configuration supports pushing to both GitHub and Coding.net simultaneously; the repository uses placeholder variables like __GITHUB_TOKEN__ and __CODING_TOKEN__, which need to be configured as environment variables in Travis-CI. The README notes that travis-ci.org is free while travis-ci.com is paid, and suggests binding a domain on Coding first if using both platforms.
Note: the repository was last updated in 2019, and the deployment examples in the README still point to the discontinued git.dev.tencent.com; the relevant platforms and commands should be verified against their current status.
Is it right for your project?
Use Cases
- Building a personal tech blog with Hexo and wanting to reuse an existing theme directly
- Needing common blog elements such as Valine comments, sidebar widgets, and a signature image
- Wanting to automatically deploy a static site via Travis-CI after pushing articles
- Needing to deploy to both GitHub and Coding.net repositories
Suitable For
- Blog authors familiar with basic Hexo commands and _config.yml configuration
- Users willing to configure token environment variables in Travis-CI
- Sites that want to display article lists and a sidebar in the Hux Blog style
- Maintainers who can verify platform and dependency changes after 2019
Getting started & customization
Use these recorded setup notes alongside the repository instructions for your chosen version.
- 1
After cloning the repository, run npm install; if you plan to fully rely on Travis-CI for deployment, you can skip this step
- 2
Fill in your repository address and branch in the deploy section of _config.yml; tokens should be passed via Travis-CI environment variables
- 3
Place the avatar in <root>/img/ and the signature image in <root>/img/signature, and set fields such as sidebar-avatar and signature-img in _config.yml
- 4
The back-to-top icon is located in css/image and can be replaced with your own image
- 5
New sidebar widgets must be added in the layout/_widget directory
License & source material
Usage conditions & limitations
Free to use · keep license noticeThis entry covers the free version under the Apache-2.0 license in the public repository; the free scope applies to that version's code and does not imply that external services or third-party assets are free.
Must comply with when using
- Free use, modification, commercial use, and distribution are permitted; the Apache-2.0 license must be included when distributing.
- Modified files must carry prominent notices of changes, and relevant copyright, patent, trademark, and attribution notices must be retained.
- If the original project includes a NOTICE file, applicable attribution notices must be retained when distributing derivative works.
- The license includes an applicable contributor patent grant; initiating patent litigation as described in the license terminates that patent grant, and no trademark rights are granted.
- The code is provided as-is; warranties and limitations of liability are governed by the original license and applicable law.
Additional costs & items to verify
- The README explicitly states that travis-ci.org is free while travis-ci.com is paid; using travis-ci.com for automated deployment requires payment, and the free option is limited to travis-ci.org.
- Automated deployment depends on configuring environment variables such as GitHub/Coding.net tokens in Travis-CI; you must register and obtain access tokens for the respective platforms yourself.
- The README suggests that users in China deploy to both Coding.net and GitHub, which involves additional third-party hosting service accounts.
- The comment feature depends on the third-party Valine comment service, which must be configured separately before use.
- Demo images, fonts, icons, and other third-party assets must be checked against their respective licenses; the code's Apache-2.0 license alone cannot be used to judge them.
- External services such as domains, hosting, databases, payments, or AI may incur additional charges.

How this score is calculated
Our heuristic uses license records (up to 30), a demo link (12), a preview (10), stars (15), recorded maintenance (15), description completeness (8), feature records (5) and classification data (5). It is not a code, security or performance test, or a Google score. A link does not establish tested functionality.

A demo link is listed. Check it with your own content and viewport sizes; its presence does not confirm that forms, authentication or payments work.
The catalog identifies Hexo as the primary stack. Check the actual dependency manifest and lockfile for versions and hosting requirements. These notes use recorded metadata, not a code audit or a deployment test.

Source file / repository> Ported Theme of [SherlockBlaze's Blog](https://sherlockblaze.com), Thank [Huxpro](https://github.com/Huxpro) for designing such a flawless theme.
> This BeanTech theme created by [YuHsuan](http://beantech.org) modified from the original Porter [Kaijun](http://kaijun.rocks/hexo-theme-huxblog/)
# what is the difference?
- First, I put random picture as the background of topbar, if you don't like it, you can set it back.
- Second, I think leancould comments is better in China, so I integrated the [valine](https://valine.js.org) comment system into it.
- Third, I also integrated the [Travis-CI](http://travis-ci.org) into it, so you can just write post, and push it to your repo, and the Travis-CI will deploy your website automatically. About the travis-ci configuration, see [here](./.travis.yml)
- Fourth, I didn't integrated the reward function into it, because I thinking I write for nothing, just share my knowledge, but if you want it, maybe learn from another version: [hexo-theme-huweihuang](https://github.com/huweihuang/hexo-theme-huweihuang.git)
- Fifth, better read more doc about [Travis-CI](http://travis-ci.org) and [Coding](https://coding.net) if you need. Here are some of the documents I looked at when I encountered problems: [Travis Start](https://docs.travis-ci.com/user/tutorial/), [Coding.net Domain Connect](https://coding.net/help/doc/pages/domain.html). If you wanna use both Github and Coding, better bind the domain name to the project on the coding first, then github. It's difficult.
- Sixth, update some old npm modules.
# Attention
you'll see some variable named like `__GITHU_TOKEN__` and so on, they're the environment variables I configured in Travis-CI, so if you want to use Travis-CI, you maybe do it like what I did, it's keep your variables more secret, more safe, especially your Github Token and Coding.net Token. If you don't know how to get one, try this [passage](https://console.bluemix.net/docs/services/ghededicated/index.html#gheded_getting_started), and coding.net is similar with it, try figure it out by yourself.
And if you have any question about all of it, try to leave a comments on this [page](https://sherlockblaze.com/about/), I'll reply you as soon as possible. Thanks.
# Note
***travis-ci.org*** is free, but ***travis-ci.com*** is not.
***When you get a Token of github or coding.net, better save it to your device or notebook, because they only show up at the first time they generated. Or you just need do it again.***

hexo deploy # hexo will push the static files automatically into the specific branch(gh-pages) of your repo!
```
If you wanna see your blog at local first, use this command.
